How can you be so sure, Snoopy? After all, he (if no-one else who comes here) knows he has God on his side. So, why wouldn't he believe that his prayers will get the Argies through?

Mind you, if that was really true, the Israeli teams would sweep all trophies before them. Because we know whose side God is really on.

His best recommendation: he didn't want the job.

So far he sounds as a realist ;-)

True. And also: rode a city bus to his place of employment and lives in a small flat at home. Well, some of it will change, but the man looks sound.

First off he's a Jesuit and that'll have the old guard in the Curia sweating. Second he is a conservative Argentinian on the losing side of their current politics. A rough analogy for him would be a Latin American John Paul II. My guess is the left is really not going to like this guy.

Well, that's good: something to keep the left busy then.
