Photohunt: protect(ion)

The theme for this week PhotoHunt is "Protect(ion)". It sent me to the archives. So the pictures presented belong to different times and different places.

This plant is nothing if not well protected against any attempt to cause it damage. Its abundance of thorns will turn away almost any grazing attempt. Unless it's a camel, of course, and even a camel will think twice.

Water buffalo on a hot day in Vietnam, protecting self against the heat as well as against the insects.

And a regular Spectacled Bulbul, keeping watch around its mate's nest. Bulbuls are very good in their guard duties.
